Claire Wagner was born in Colorado but moved around a lot as a child since her dad was a professional photographer. Her passion in high school was acting and, happily, that’s where she got her first taste of yoga. Before acting class, they practiced sun salutes and breathing exercises as warm up. Claire found herself more than a little intrigued. She went on to get her BFA in Professional Acting Meisner Technique at East Carolina University and it was in college that she took her first official yoga class. The yoga classes she took were merely to accomplish a physical education requirement her senior year, but she knew right away that she wanted to be a yoga teacher. She moved to New York City after graduation and pursued acting for 3 years only to be pulled deeper into her yoga practice. Eventually, she was certified at Yoga Vida NYC and partook in their mentorship program for three months after her training. Once she started teaching yoga in NYC, she never looked back. Yoga gives Claire a profound feeling of being loved and accepted. And now it has become her passion to share this sensation with others. Her favorite part about yoga is that no matter what your past consists of, or what you look like, or where you live, or how much money you make – yoga accepts you. Claire likes to think of herself as a mellow, humorous person with a passion for humanity in all aspects – the good, the bad, and the ugly.
