At Gaea, we love to honor the solstices and equinoxes with a class devoted specifically to these transitory times. The Summer Solstice is the first true day of summer, the longest day of the year, and marks the official shift from Spring to Summer. In Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, this is a shift from the season of the liver (associated with the element of WOOD) to the season of the heart (associated with the element of FIRE). Hence the name, Forest-2-Fire, y’all.
This year the Summer Solstice happens to fall on Monday, June 20, 2016. Which is also a FULL MOON. So we have much to celebrate.
This 2-hour Yin Yoga class will be guided by Kate Smith and will incorporate poses and meditations to specifically honor the seasonal shift. As well, Kate will make us one of her extra-ordinary, oh-so-SPECIAL essential oil blends to enhance the depth and potency of this transformational and meditational experience.
