Our Time Together:
Can this ancient text of the Yoga Sutras be applied to our modern lives in a practical way?
The answer, according to us at Gaea Yoga, is a resounding YES.
Let's face it: picking up a copy of the Yoga Sutras and just reading it on your own can be intimidating. Beyond that, the comprehension of such a text is daunting and often confusing. But this is also what makes the Yoga Sutras so mysterious and appealing. So let's explore the text as a group with a guide, Kate Smith, who has been diving deeper into this subject matter with the help of her own skilled teachers. Let's allow Kate, with the wisdom of her own teachers at her side, to usher us through the insights of these ancient words.
In this 30-hour training we will dive DEEP into the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. First, we will set the stage by exploring and understanding Samkhya Philosophy, which was the philosophic tone at the time in which the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali were written. Understanding Samkyha as a foundation for our further discussions, we will then take on each of the four padas or "feet" (sections, chapters) of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and glean what knowledge we can by exploring the entire work one verse at a time. Kate Smith has trained with Paul Grilley extensively in this subject matter and has been preparing for this training for months. It promises to be a BIG training full of insights and transformational exploration.
